Weddings

A wedding is a happy and holy occasion. As two people join their lives to establish a Christian home, the church rejoices with them and is eager to help make the wedding reverent, beautiful and memorable. The true beauty of a wedding lies in the spirit and attitude of those who take part.

Your wedding ceremony is the culmination of one of the richest and happiest times you have experienced to this point in your life. With the exception of your relationship with Christ, this is the beginning of the most lasting relationship you will ever have – your marriage.
The scripture tells us that marriage was instituted by God (Genesis 2:18-24), that it is to be a permanent bond (Matthew 19:6), that it is to be centered in love and obedience (Ephesians 5:21-33), that believers and unbelievers are not to be bonded together (2 Corinthians 6:14) and a man’s greatest treasure is his wife – she is a gift from the Lord (Proverbs 18:22, CEV).

Your wedding is a sacred occasion. It will be most meaningful to you and your families and friends when there is careful planning. For that reason, the following policies and guidelines will govern your plans for your wedding at Star of Bethlehem. We sincerely believe these guidelines to be most suitable and practical for all concerned

As you begin to plan your nuptials, please take the following steps:
  1. First, select an officiant to preside over your ceremony. If you would like Pastor Jones to serve as your officiant, please check his availability by contacting the Church Office at 914-762-1360 or office@starbethbc.org. After you’ve heard back, based on Pastor’s availability the date will be placed on the Pastor’s calendar.
  2. Once your date has been confirmed with the Church office, you will be asked to fill out a Facility Request Form. Fill out and submit the information and you will then be contacted and asked to come in and meet and fill out the appropriate paperwork to secure your space for your wedding.

Note: Two very important criteria must be met before a couple can be married in our sanctuary.
  • If you want Pastor Jones to officiate you must attend 4 premarital classes with Pastor Shaun Jones.
  • If you want someone else to officiate the ceremony, the Clergy person must be approved by Pastor Jones. You also must attend 1 premarital counseling session with Pastor Shaun Jones.
