*Currently, a person has been fully vaccinated if they have received the prescribed number of shots (1 for Johnson & Johnson; 2 for Pfizer and Moderna) and two weeks have elapsed.*       

FAQ’s

Do I have to register to attend worship services?
All members and visitors only have to register one time to attend worship. 
 
How will The Star be practicing social distancing?
We will utilize signage and our Hospitality Ministry to seat attendees based on households and socially distant (6ft apart and every other row).  There will be no gatherings in the lobby. Members are asked to no hug or touch other members. Elbow and air high-fives are encouraged 
 
Will the Church continue its check-in and COVID screening process? 
Yes. All attendees must still check in upon arrival, and pass a Covid-19 Health Screening. 
 
Do I still have to wear a masks?
Yes, everyone who enters the building will be required to wear a mask. You are required to leave your mask on at all times while you are in the building. If you are unable or unwilling to wear a mask, we ask that you remain at home and enjoy our services online.
 
What if I’m not Vaccinated?
Non-Vaccinated individuals who wishes to attend in-person worship must provide proof of a negative Covid Test (taken within 24 hours). Antigen self-tests (home test) are acceptable. 
 
​Will The Star be limiting capacity of their buildings? 
Yes. Based on guidelines at the current time we will be limiting the capacity to 50%. We have and will continue to closely monitor local, state and federal guidelines to help us determine safe practices and adhere to social distancing requirements.
 
Should I let someone know if I discover I had COVID-19 while attending a service?
Yes. if you have tested positive or  believe you had COVID-19 while attending a service, please email Church Administrator at office@starbethbc.org. Your privacy will be protected, but we will let people who you may have been in close contact with aware of the situation.
If you’d test positive for COVID, feel sick or have been exposed to anyone who has been in the last 10 days, please join us virtually at www.starbethbc.org. 
 
Will I be notified if someone who attended a service tests positive for COVID-19?
Yes, If we become aware that someone attended a service while having the virus, we will alert all attendees who attended that service.
 
What time should I arrive for service?
In order to allow enough time for check-in we ask that you arrive at least 10 minutes prior to the beginning of a service.​
 
Will there be Children’s Church?
We are still evaluating the health precautions of offering Children’s Church. However,  We encourage you to bring your kids with you to our services in the sanctuary. Currently Church’s meets meets every 1st Sunday on Zoom. 
 
Will certain doors be marked for exit and entrance only?
Yes, entrances and exits will be marked to enable the proper flow of traffic.

Will the service look different?

For the most part our services will look the same. However, in this season, to allow for social distancing and safety, we will not walk around for offertory,  or pass communion trays around. Attendees giving via cash or check can either before or after service; and communion elements will be distributed in baggies prior to entering the service, 
 
How is Star cleaning its facilities?
We clean the building during the week based on CDC and NYS cleaning recommendations. 
Disinfecting seats in the Sanctuary as well as cleaning all doors, handrails, and common areas before service. A state of the art Air purifier has been installed to filter out particles and viruses including Covid-19. The common areas and sanctuary will also be fogged with disinfectant.  Additionally, hand sanitizer stations have been placed throughout the building.
 
How can I continue my giving?
Giving will remain digital at this time. Cash and checks in envelopes may be “touchlessly” placed in the giving station located in the Main Foyer.  We encourage you to give 1 these 4 ways: 
  1. Go to our website www.starbethbc.org and click the “Give” tab,
  2. Give through Givelify.
  3. Give by Texting: “Give” to 914-344-5989.
