What to Expect from Star

  • Check-in & COVID Screening prior to entry (Temp checks, contact tracing, etc…)
  • Mask will be provided for those who do not have one to wear during worship. 
  • Welcomed, greeted, and seated by Hospitality Team  (Ushers ,Embracing) at upon entry of the building.
  • Seating based on households and social distancing (6ft. apart and every other row). 
  • Sanitizer Stations and hygiene signs posted inside sanctuary, and throughout the building. 
  • Limit of 2 persons at a time in each bathroom (male/female).
  • Screeners & Check-in will be available until 11:45 am. 
  • Holy Communion & Offertory done based on Social Distancing guidelines. There will be no Baptisms until further notice. 
  • Cleaning will be done during the week based on CDC and NYS cleaning recommendations. 

What Star Expects from You

  • RSVP you and your family online prior to your arrival on Sundays. 
  • Arrive at the Church  20-30 minutes prior to worship service to give time for the check in process. 
  • Bring and properly wear your mask or face covering at all times. Please cover your nose AND mouth when wearing your mask.
  • Bring your own Bible or device, as paper Bibles and Hymnals have been removed from the sanctuary due to COVID restrictions. 
  • Pay your tithe or give an offering via electronically or bring your own tithing envelope (envelopes will no longer be distributed). 
  • Practice social distancing by respecting the personal boundaries of fellow congregants as they participate in worship.
  • If you are feeling sick or been out of state in a travel ban state  or country within the last 14 days, please join us online for worship. 
  • Please follow entry and exit instructions as given by signs and church leadership.


I’m not comfortable returning to church yet. Will online services continue to be offered?
Yes! We encourage you to join us online until you feel comfortable attending in person. Our worship services will to be streamed at 11am. You can view our services at starbethbc.org, YouTube and/or Facebook. 
Will The Star be limiting capacity of their buildings? 
Yes. Based on guidelines at the current time we will be limiting the capacity to 50%. We have been and will continue to closely monitor local, state and federal guidelines to help us determine safe practices and adhere to social distancing requirements.
Do I have to register?
Yes. In order to manage capacity as well as allow for contact tracing we are asking everyone to register. Registration will go live each week the Sunday prior to the Sunday service and close each Thursday. In the event you cannot register online you can also register upon arrival if we have not reached capacity. 
How will The Star be enabling social distancing in its locations? 
We will be utilizing signage and Hospitality Ministry members to encourage attendees as they arrive to head straight to check-in and then to their seats. There will be no gatherings in the lobby.
Will The Star be screening those who attend in person?
Yes. Health screening questionnaire and temperate will be required for all attendees. 
Are masks required?
Everyone who enters the building will be required to wear a mask. You are required to leave your mask on at all times while you are in the building. If you are unable or unwilling to wear a mask, we ask that you remain at home and enjoy our services online.
What if I have a medical exemption for wearing a mask?
While we understand that some people have been exempted from wearing masks for medical reasons, we are requiring everyone to wear a mask. If you are unable to do so, we ask that you remain home and continue to worship with us online.
Will there be Children’s Church?
During phase 1 of our re-entry, we will not be having in-person Children’s Church on Sunday mornings. We encourage you to bring your kids with you to our services in the sanctuary. This may produce some hesitancy or even anxiety in you. We totally understand that, but we also want you to know that this is a safe place for kids to be kids!  All children ages 4 and up will be required to wear facemasks. 
If I choose not to attend in person, will there still be online option for Rising Stars?
Yes. our Rising Stars Children’s Church meets every 2nd Sunday. however it is on break until October 10th at 12:30 PM on Zoom.
Should I let someone know if I discover I had COVID-19 while attending a service?
Yes. We will be contact tracing everyone who serves and attends our services. If you believe you had COVID-19 while attending a service, please email Church Administrator at office@starbethbc.org. Your privacy will be protected, but we will let people who you may have been in close contact with aware of the situation.
Will I be notified if someone who attended a service tests positive for COVID-19?
If we become aware that someone attended a service while having the virus, we will alert all attendees who attended that service.
What time should I arrive for service?
In order to allow enough time for check-in we ask that you arrive at least 15-20 minutes prior to the beginning of a service.​
Will certain doors be marked for exit and entrance only?
Yes, entrances and exits will be marked to enable the proper flow of traffic.
Will restrooms be open?
Yes, restrooms will be open and will undergo routine cleaning between services.
Will the service look different?
For the most part our services will look the same. However, in this season, to allow for social distancing and safety, we will not walk around for offertory, invite people to come up front for altar prayer, or pass communion trays around. Attendees giving via cash or check can either before or after service; and communion elements will be distributed in baggies prior to entering the service, 
How is The Star cleaning its facilities?
We will be disinfecting seats in the Sanctuary as well as cleaning all doors, handrails, and common areas before service. The common areas and sanctuary will also be fogged with disinfectant.  Additionally, hand sanitizer stations will be located throughout the building.
How can I continue my giving?
During this time, we are encouraging digital giving. You can still give 4 ways:
1) Go to our website www.starbethbc.org and click the “Give” tab,
2) Give through Givelify.
3) Give by Texting: “Give” to 914-344-5989. 
4) Mail in your contributions to 304 Spring Street, Ossining, NY 10562.  We will also have giving stations located at the information center in the Main Foyer.
