Disciple Support
"Who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God." - 2 Corinthians 1:4
Christian Counseling and care at Star are different from counseling in the mental health community. Pastor Jones seeks to help people through the word of God deal with bereavement, grief, pre/marital counseling, and other life issues.

Our Benevolent Ministry exists to assist members and non-members in times of financial need. We provide a Basic Need on a Short-Term Basis Only.
For members please alert your Tribal Leader (Deacon) and they will help you fill out an application. Once we have received your application. It will be reviewed, and you will be informed whether or not the requested amount can be made. Please note that applying does not guarantee that your request will be granted. The church does not discriminate against applicants based on race, color, sex, national origin, age or disability. The church may provide short-term (or emergency) assistance to ensure that an applicant has the basic necessities.
All assistance granted to the applicant for emergency needs will be paid directly to the business or service provider. Assistance may also be provided in the form of goods. The type of aid that is appropriate depends on the individual’s needs and available resources.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
1. Need must be related to a short-term financial crisis (medical emergency, accidents, loss of job, etc.)
2. Requests for assistance are limited to Two (2) disbursements annually (within a 12 month period),
Per Household (special circumstances will be reviewed).
3. Documentation supporting the financial need will be required.
EXCLUSIONS:
1. Legal fees related to family disputes.
2. Long term and repetitive expenses.
3. Non-essential expenses.
4. Mobile Phone (an exception can be made if it’s your only phone)
BENEVOLENCE PROCESS:
1. Contact your Tribal Team Leader for a Benevolent Request Form.
2. Complete and submit the Benevolent Request Form to your Tribal Team Leader with the appropriate documentation (incomplete forms will not be processed).
3. The Tribal Team Leader will submit the form to the Benevolent Treasurer.
4. The Benevolent Treasurer and Deacon Chairpersons will review the request and present it to the Pastor for the final approval. If approved, the check will be issued to your provider as soon as possible.
Additional Criteria:
If more than two requests are made annually, you will be given a list of other non-profit agencies and advised to seek the assistances of a professional financial advisor.

Star of Bethlehem provides comfort, aid, and support to members, their families, and friends after the loss of a loved one. Our Pastor and facilities are available for both funerals and repasses.

Baby Dedications are a time set aside in the life of the church to celebrate the entrance of a new life into the church family, by seeking God’s favor and blessings over the child and to charge the parent or parents before God and man that parents need God’s wisdom and help in raising their child and with God’s help, parents will do your best to set the example for this child to follow in the way of the LORD.
The Baby Dedication at Star of Bethlehem does not involve baptism. We believe that baptism is meant to take place at a time when an individual makes a personal decision to follow Christ and is old enough to repent and confess to Jesus publicly.
Baby Dedication Schedule: Here at Star Dedications normally are done on a Quarterly Basis.

As two people join their lives to establish a Christian home, the church rejoices with them and is eager to help make the wedding reverent, beautiful, and memorable. The true beauty of a wedding lies in the spirit and attitude of those who take part.
Your wedding and marriage are sacred and should be carefully planned. For that reason, Star has the following policies and guidelines:
- Select an officiant to preside over your ceremony. If you would like Pastor Jones to serve as your officiant, please check his availability by contacting the Church Office at 914-762-1360 or office@starbethbc.org.
- Once your date has been confirmed with the Church office, you will be asked to fill out a Facility Request Form to secure your space for your wedding.
Note: Couples who use an outside officiant but want to be married in our sanctuary must attend 1 pre-marital counseling session with Pastor Jones.

Facility Rental
Our facility is dedicated for the glory and worship of God and to serve the fellowship and social needs of the congregation & the larger community.
The Star of Bethlehem Baptist Church is available to for rent. Our facility built in 1996 is a great location for weddings, receptions, baby showers, birthday and retirement parties, conferences, concerts, gospel programs, luncheons and banquets.
We have also hosted several film & television production crews. If you are interested in using our facility as a crew site please call the church directly at 914-762-1360.
